This workshop will explore the basics of trauma, how it impacts the body and practical strategies to manage trauma symptoms. Participants will walk away with a better understanding of trauma and how to rebuild trust with their bodies. This training will be geared towards DePaul students but any DePaul member is welcome to attend. This training will be facilitated by LeChae Mottley, LSW who is a Trauma Therapist at Resilience’s Austin Office. She received her master’s degree in social work from the School of Social Service Administration at the University of Chicago in 2018. LeChae has worked with adolescents and adults experiencing depression, anxiety, substance use concerns and intimate partner violence. She incorporates anti-oppressive frameworks into her work including harm reduction, trauma-informed care and intersectional feminist perspectives. LeChae is grateful to be able to hold space for clients to heal and develop a life that aligns with their values.
