DePaul Esports is looking to kick 2020 off with a bang.
At DePaul Esports, inclusion is one of the most important pillars to our community. We are about making gaming more accessible for all, regardless of background or level of prior gaming experience. That is why we are proud to be launching DePaul Rivals, a friendly series of four intramural-style non competitive gaming leagues open to DePaul students of all skill levels.
The titles to be featured include Fortnite, FIFA 20, League of Legends, and Super Smash Bros, and aim to build a community-style atmosphere which encourages mentorship and mutuality among participants. DePaul Rivals will kick off on January 15, the opening week of DePaul's winter quarter, and will be run both online and in person via DePaul’s Gaming Centers.
"DePaul Rivals is looking to strengthen the DePaul community,” says Joel Alvarez, Director of Competition at DePaul Esports and President of DePaul League of Legends. “We are looking to provide an inclusive atmosphere to anyone interested in playing titles we’re offering.”
For now, students are encouraged to fill out the DePaul Rivals interest form on DeHub, as DePaul Esports continues to gauge interest and finalize plans before the beginning of winter quarter. The interest form will be open until Monday, December 30 at midnight. Students who complete the interest form will have priority for our future signup form.
Students can submit the interest form here.
