CAN CAN 4 CANS

FSL is so excited to announce that we are hosting our first annual food drive for the DePaul Basic Needs Hub this November! There will be boxes in the Lincoln Park Student Center Atrium with pictures of our CANdidates from various FSL chapters. Place your donations in the box(es) of the CANdidate you think you know (there will be clue sheets to help you guess)! The event will take place from November 6th through November 9th and will have a total reveal of who the CANdidates are and how much we collected on November 10th! Follow our FSL Instagram at @depaulfsl for more information!

FSL DeHUB Website

We have just updated our FSL DeHUB website. This website was created to provide chapters with a one stop shop for all things you may need for FSL as a member or an officer. The website has information on overviews of our councils, a resource page for FSL forms & surveys (which is linked on the side) as well as a helpful resource page for things such as SAF-B and CAF-B funding, catering from chartwells, and more. Save the links to your computers or devices and reference them as often as you'd like!

FSL 101 is BACK!

FSL 101 is an educational program that offers newly initiated/inducted members an opportunity to gain more knowledge and understanding on what it means to be a part of the Fraternity and Sorority community here at DePaul. In this module series, newly initiated/inducted members will be introduced to campus partners such as the Office Health Promotion and Wellness, the Office of Gender and Equity, and our 4 Cultural Centers at DePaul. Newly initiated/inducted members will also engage with vital information surrounding hazing prevention work, social norms, alcohol and other drugs, and learning more about the governing structures and makeup of our FSL Community.

This is a required educational program from FSL and is necessary for newly initiated/inducted members to complete to be in good standing as a FSL chapter. Chapters with Members who fail to complete FSL 101 within the allotted time frame will be unable to host events and make space reservations on campus until FSL 101 has been completed by all new initiates/inductees. For more information, please refer to the FSL Policy and Resource Guide on the sidebar of this newsletter!

Officer Leadership Series (OLS)

Over the past year, FSL staff have worked tirelessly to program opportunities to better place members and chapter leaders in positions of success around organizational management. We are thrilled to announce our educational training series called Officer Leadership Series (OLS). This educational training series offers chapter leaders and members direct support, guidance and solutions to organizational management services such as booking spaces on campus, managing chapter membership rosters, and completing quarterly reports. Each training series is equipped with step-by-step video tutorials led by FSL staff to best support your experiences! Looking to train executive board members on how to create DeHUB events- there is a video for that! Looking to teach out FSL policies and resources for your members- there is a video for that!

OLS can be accessed by all FSL leaders and members through our FSL DeHUB website. The link is provided below. As we see the needs grow and develop for our FSL community, we will continue to grow OLS programming. If there is programming that you would like to specifically see, we would love to know!

End of Quarter Reminders:

Chapter rosters:
For the chapters who went through the recruitment or intake process this Fall Quarter, first off, congratulations! 🎉🎉

Please make sure to update your chapter membership roster in DeHUB to accurately reflect the members in your chapter. If you need help on how to do this, here is the Officer Leadership Series (OLS) page that shows you how to do that! If you have any further questions please email fsl@depaul.edu .

Quarterly Report:
The FSL Quarterly Report is a report form that is completed at the conclusion of each quarter by a representative from each FSL chapter at DePaul. The FSL Quarterly Report allows the FSL staff to learn more about chapter operations, use data to advocate for the needs of the community, celebrate the accomplishments of each chapter, and receive feedback on ways to make the FSL community stronger. If you need help on how to do this, here is the Officer Leadership Series (OLS) page that shows you how to do that! If you have any further questions please email fsl@depaul.edu .
