Advisor Newsletter

Thank you for your continuous support of the student organization community! This newsletter provides resources and updates that are relevant to your role as an advisor. If you have any follow up questions, please reach out to studentorgs@depaul.edu and our student org team is happy to help!

The Office of Student Involvement wants to congratulate Amy Merrick and Gina Leal for their recognition as Outstanding Faculty/Staff Advisors! Their ongoing commitment to the students, groups, and mission of DePaul has not gone unnoticed.

Individuals and student organizations that received awards for Excellence in Leadership Awards this year have been highlighted on our office's Facebook and Instragram: dpuinvolvement.

Thank you all for your continued service to our students and the community!

Student Organization Categories

The Office of Student Involvement has created category descriptions for each of the available categories chosen by student organizations during the registration process. Please review the new category information and assist us in identifying up to two categories within your group's registration form. We are excited about this opportunity for groups to connect with other organizations that share common interest!

Advisor Resource Page

As we continue to grow our resources for our advisors and have new information for groups, we will use our new Advisor Resource page within the OSI DeHub website to hold this information. This space will serve as a great place to start with any questions/concerns you may have and learn any new information from within the student organization community.

Registration has begun!

Student organizations can find their registration form within their DeHub group. Advisors will be sent an email requesting their approval of their role in the group. If your group has registered, you can access the form to approve through the following steps:

  • Log into DeHub
  • Navigate to My Workflows
  • Select the group's registration
  • Click "I approve"
If you or your group has any questions please let us know at studentorgs@depaul.edu!

Advisor Letter of Service

Faculty and staff advisors provide students an unique support system and resource for students as they grow within their involvement on campus. Due to this positive impact, the Office of Student Involvement will provide the Advisor Letter of Service upon request to display the role played by advisors. Here you will be able to access the letter request form within OSI's DeHub page. Thank you for your service to the student organization community!

Digital Resources for Student Organizations

Even though DePaul has shifted to remote work, your student organization can still meet and connect through a variety of virtual options. For example, did you know that DePaul faculty, staff, and student employees have access to use Zoom, a web-based conferencing platform that is accessible on MacOS, Windows, iOS, and Android devices. Virtual meetings and gatherings taking place on this platform can be joined by anyone that has access to the link. If your student organization would like to host a Zoom meeting, please request by emailing studentorgs@depaul.edu

Advisor Interest Form

Do you know any faculty or staff interested in serving in an advisor role for one of our student organizations? Here they can fill out an interest form that will help us match them with one of groups that is need of an advisor!
