Student Organization Gatherings Update

Hello Student Organization Leaders –

We hope you are safe and well! Recently, Chicago recently moved to Phase 3- the Recovery stage- of the Restore Illinois Plan. The guidelines in this stage allow for gatherings of ten or less with heavy safety precautions, but also continue to call for tele-work to be strongly encouraged whenever possible. With this shift, our staff has been asked how this will affect student organizations. As you may know, DePaul has committed to remote learning for the summer quarter and has extended the work from home order through at least July 17. With this in mind, Student Involvement will continue to require student groups to meet virtually and not participate in in-person activities. We are hopeful that we will be able to allow student organizations to begin meeting in person in small gatherings when DePaul discontinues the Work from Home order.

Our staff, along with others from around the university, are working hard to develop plans for the safe reopening of campus. As we know more about how this will affect the student organization community, we will be sure to let you know.

Should you have any questions, feel free to let us know.

Take care,

The Office of Student Involvement
